Caledonia reports Blanket fatality

Gold miner Caledonia Mining reports that a person has died following an accident related to secondary blasting at its Blanket mine, in Zimbabwe, on September 22.

The company says its immediate priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all individuals involved and to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this accident.

Further details cannot be released pending the outcome of an investigation into this accident by the relevant authorities.

Caledonia expressed its condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased.
